For this project, I really wanted to challenge myself creatively and technically. The original idea for this project came to me while listening to Aoi, Koi, Daidaiiro No Hi by MASS OF THE FERMENTING DREGS — the mood and atmosphere of the song instantly sparked a visual in my mind I decided to create my own original concept and develop a unique visual style from the ground up. I used Nana Komatsu as a likeness reference for the sculpt, which helped me bring a touch of realism to the character while still keeping my own style. It was my first time producing a full 3D animation with a character.

I experimented, and pushed myself to learn new workflows and software I had not used before or did not feel comfortable with.
This project definitely helped me grow a lot. From sculpting to grooming, rigging, and using blendshapes to drive her expressions, all the way to implementing a full cloth simulation. Every step of the process was an opportunity to learn something new and push the piece further. It is by far the most complicated and challenging project I have taken on by far, but the growth I experienced made it all worth it.
